NO, THANKS. I'D RATHER WALK.
Deuteronomy 13:4
"Ye shall walk after the LORD your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him."
As everyone knows, most sea creatures get from place to place by swimming. Others like the octopus use a form of jet propulsion. But one thing that no one expects to see on the sea floor is a fish that walks! And what makes this creature even more unusual is that the spotted handfish gets about on pectoral fins that look almost like human hands!
This unusual form of locomotion isn't the only almost-human thing about the spotted handfish. According to an article in Science News, they "fish the way people do, with patience and lures." In their words, "The fishes' dorsal fins' front spines have evolved flamboyant deceptions: tendrils that wiggle like worms, a pom-pom on a stick, a lump with stripes and an eyelike spot."
Once these lures bring the fish's lunch within range, in a flash the fish opens its mouth, creating a suction that sucks the prey into the fish's mouth.
Despite its skills at fishing, the spotted handfish has become one of the most endangered creatures on Earth. Efforts are underway to keep them from total extinction. Let me add that our Creator has also made considerable efforts of His own for rescuing another kind of walking creature from a fate even worse than extinction. Humans have disobeyed God and refused to walk in His ways. Thankfully, our Creator entered His creation and died on the cross to rescue us from a fate far worse than death. Oh, what a Savior!
Heavenly Father, the Bible tells us that we are like sheep that have gone astray. We have turned every one to his own way but You placed on Jesus the iniquity of us all. Thank You for such great salvation! Amen.

COULD A MAGNET SEPARATE YOU FROM GOD?
John 6:39
"And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day."
According to the ScienceDaily website, "New research involving a psychologist from the University of York has revealed for the first time that both belief in God and prejudice towards immigrants can be reduced by directing magnetic energy into the brain."
The article goes on to say that the psychologist led a team of researchers from UCLA to "carry out an innovative experiment using transcranial magnetic stimulation, a safe way of temporarily shutting down specific regions of the brain." The findings revealed that "people in whom the targeted brain region was temporarily shut down reported 32.8% less belief in God, angels, or heaven." They also discovered they could use the same technique to turn off a person's patriotism.
The head of the research team noted: "As expected, we found that when we experimentally turned down the posterior medial frontal cortex, people were less inclined to reach for comforting religious ideas despite having been reminded of death."
Dr. Colin Holbrook from UCLA noted that the findings "are very striking" and "consistent with the idea that brain mechanisms that evolved for relatively basic threat-response functions are repurposed to also produce ideological reactions."
Well, I wouldn't worry about strong magnets taking away the faith of those who have put their trust in Jesus. As it says in the Bible, our Savior will not lose even one of His precious saints but will deliver them all to His Father in heaven.
Heavenly Father, only those with proud and arrogant minds would even think they can do something that's against Your clearly revealed will. Thank You for not only saving me but for keeping me until the end! Amen.

DARWINISM RESTS ITS CASE ON A LAWYER'S CLAIMS
Luke 19:40
"And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out."
In the introduction to his chapter on the origin of life for the book Evolution's Achilles' Heels, Ph.D. scientist Tas Walker points out that "geology has long been considered the solid foundation for evolution." He goes on to write that Darwin "built his theory of biological evolution squarely on then-current theories of geology, especially the work of his contemporary, Charles Lyell."
Now, we've told you about Charles Lyell on previous broadcasts. But it's important to stress that Lyell was trained to be a lawyer, not a scientist. So, Dr. Walker notes, "Often without knowing it, geologists owe their current old-age position to the lawyer turned uniformitarian geologist, Lyell."
The second thing Walker points out is that Lyell was a man with an agenda. Walker writes, "Lyell was clear about what he wanted to achieve, as he revealed to a colleague in his correspondence. He said his aim was 'to free the science [of geology] from Moses.'"
The rest of the chapter is filled with geological evidences supporting a young Earth. But he began his chapter talking about Lyell because "the so-called geologic record has given the historical sciences an earth 'history' of billions of years that allows unobservable biological evolution to seem plausible. Without eons of time," Dr. Walker concludes, "evolution would be dead in the water."
Not only is it dead in the water. When you examine the geological evidence, you see that the stones really do cry out they were created by Jesus Christ.
Heavenly Father, I know that Darwinism is build on a foundation of assumptions fueled by a hatred of You. I pray that You will open the eyes of many who are now blindly following men like Lyell and Darwin. Amen.

MORTIMER ADLER'S ANTI-DARWINISM CRUSADE
Proverbs 14:6
"A scorner seeketh wisdom, and findeth it not: but knowledge is easy unto him that understandeth."
Many atheists and evolutionists claim that creationists are anti-science. Well, let's see how well that claim holds up by looking at the life of one man.
Are you familiar with the name Mortimer Adler? No? Well, I'm quite sure you have heard of the Encyclopedia Britannica. For many years, Adler was chairman of the encyclopedia's board of editors. He is also the man behind the best-selling 54-volume Great Books of the Western World.
The reason I'm telling you about Adler today, however, has to do with his half-century-long crusade against Darwinism. Based on his understanding of what constitutes real science, Adler contended that Darwinism was nothing but a myth and wild speculation. Adler observed, "Darwin himself is partly responsible for much of this speculation. The Origin of Species is full of guesses which are clearly unsupported by the evidence."
Adler added that "these guesses are not in the field of scientific knowledge anyway. Evolution is not a scientific fact, but at best a probable history, a history for which the evidence is insufficient and conflicting."
In his book, Slaughter of the Dissidents, Dr. Jerry Bergman points out that Adler was born of Jewish parents and became a "religious scoffer" when he was a young man. However, it was his acceptance of the cosmological argument for God that a creation needed a Creator that eventually caused Adler to believe in God.
Mortimer Adler died in 2001 at the age of 98 a Darwin-denier until the end.
Heavenly Father, thank You for opening the eyes of millions to the fact that Darwinism is not a fact at all! In Jesus' Name. Amen.

A SCIENTIFIC DISSENT FROM DARWINISM
Psalm 31:24
"Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the LORD."
Since Creation Moments stands firmly on the side of creation as described in the Bible, we disagree at times with the Discovery Institute, the recognized leader of the Intelligent Design movement. But we do have to recognize and applaud them for putting together a list of several hundred scientists who do not agree with Darwinism.
I'm talking about the "Scientific Dissent from Darwinism" list. To get on the list, scientists had to agree with the following statement: "We are skeptical of claims for the ability of random mutation and natural selection to account for the complexity of life. Careful examination of the evidence for Darwinian theory should be encouraged."
One such scientist Dr. Stanley Salthe is quoted as saying: "Darwinian evolutionary theory was my field of specialization in biology. Among other things, I wrote a textbook on the subject thirty years ago. Meanwhile, however, I have become an apostate from Darwinian theory and have described it as part of modernism's origination myth."
According to the Discovery Institute, they launched the list in 2001 because "the public has been assured that all known evidence supports Darwinism and that virtually every scientist in the world believes the theory to be true. The scientists on this list dispute the first claim and stand as living testimony in contradiction to the second."
Now ask yourself this: If these scientists were courageous in standing up for what they believe, can you as a believer in Jesus Christ do anything less?
Heavenly Father, I pray that Your Holy Spirit will embolden me to share the gospel with many people I have been reluctant to talk with about spiritual things. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
